Six Months

Dear Community and Clients,

Thank you! Without all of you, I wouldn’t be able to see Shoji Arts turn 6 months old today.  Since the ribbon cutting on March 4 to reopen downtown in the pandemic, I have worked with a total of 65 clients in 124 sessions (12 yoga classes, 17 private yoga lessons, and 95 massage sessions)!

Really, thank you with all my heart to everyone who’s helped make it happen.  Thank you for your bookings, repeat sessions, encouragement, referrals, collaborations, feedback, generosity, prayers and well wishes and excitement.  Thank you for your energy and continued support.  In particular I want to thank Laurence Clarkberg, whose generous support was instrumental to the start-up of this business.

Healing Arts

❝One of my masters told me that the more treatments you give, the more you will grow as a human being.❞

—James Mochizuki

It has been a pleasure to work with you in the healing spaces of vulnerability and growth.  The path of offering my talents, skills and gifts to the world in such a way that sustains and gives back has not always been straightforward! Yet the more I connect with healing arts, the more I see, sense and feel the need for this commitment and why I am committed.   I am open to continual growth, challenges, unknowns and opportunities in this trajectory.

Shoji Arts turns 6 months old today on September 4, my birthday is tomorrow September 5, and Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish new year) begins September 6, on Labor Day this year.  This has been a period of reflection and internal review for me, in conjunction with the harvest season.  I’ve been contemplating what healing arts means to me and why it matters to me.  I’d love to hear your own reflections for what healing arts means to you or how you see this play out in your life from here in the “new year.”

What does healing arts mean to you?

Travel update!  Appointments for October will be on pause, as I plan to be away in Portugal for yoga studies with my teachers and community there.  I look forward to this precious time.  Bookings for November are now available!

Sweet New Year

In the spirit of Rosh Hashanah—Best wishes to all of you for a sweet new year!  I look forward to your bookings in September and November and beyond.  Stay tuned for new growth, new projects and collaborations, new announcements and change.  L’Chaim and Mabuhay!

Best wishes for a sweet new year,
